Default Chirpy sound under the bonnet (Puma)

There's a chirping sound under the bonnet, when idling and accelerating. It's coming from the 'fan' belt/one of the things driven by it. Not sure how to check where it's actually coming from or have any ideas if it could be a just a pulley, the belt or something bigger? 1.7 Zetec Puma

Probably a worn belt. With the engine running, carefully spray a small squirt of water on the inside of the belt. If the noise briefly stops of changes note then that's your problem.

I thought there would have been lots of joke replies to this such as Budgie, OR "doubt it is a Puma, they growl"
