Heater matrix could be blocked or possibly airlocked

Hi After reading the replys I recieved I went out this morning and took the car for a
Drive to get temp up... got back and as advised felt the two pipes leading to
The matrix... one was hot and one was slightly warm...
I got a bit excited and loosened the jubilee clip on the coolant hose....
Wow... Sh#t.... not a good idea... the fuc#ing thing exploded in my face...
I've burnt all my hand on the top.. luckily I still have vision...
I thought it would be hot but it was like steaming molten lava...
After 3 paracetamol I attached a hose pipe to the lower matrix pipe and put
A clear oven glass bowl under the other pipe...
I wish I could attach a picture of what was flushed out...
Big chunks of iron rust and like soil....
Attached all the pipes back on, filled with new water and heater is fixed...
Thanks for the replys I recieved.... you were both 100% correct...
I won't be taking any coolant pipes off again.. fu#k that...!!!
I can only assume that because the matrix was blocked it caused pressure
To build up in the pipe... cheers nick
