Default Sierra Sapphire Front Strut Question

Hi, I am working on my Sapphire 2.0 DOHC Ghia 1989 which is undergoing a restoration.
https://passionford.com/forum/restor...a-project.html

Currently working on the front suspension / brakes (New Disks/ Pads and Springs as both broken)

Got the offside strut rebuilt but according to the haynes seem to be missing a "Nylon Spacer" (B) ??? the other side is missing as well, were they deleted at some stage?

The struts were changed about 14 years ago (Been off the road for 12 since then)

Any idea where I might source these if missing?

Thanks...

I think that nylon spacer is only for Pre 1986 cars with diffrent shocks and springs. I've got them on my xr4i (1984).
And i can tell you're not missing anything!

The part E is just 2 separate parts before 1986 (E and B separate). And after 1986 It is just one part (E and B as metal one part). Pre 1986 and after 1986 are both the same height.

If u change to the post 1986 shock setup you can delete the nylon spacer then?
I'm using 2wd saph suspension in mines and retained the nylon spacer and always wondered why I had very little of the threaded shock emerging from the strut top...

I think that would not work. The nylon spacer is placed to catch all horizontal movements. If you delete it the strut would not be properly secured.
