Hi. I've been searching for information regarding a screeching sound on Mondeo st tdci under acceleration. The sounds starts at 2500 rpm which indicates to me to be turbo related.

I've checked the EGR to intercooler pipe which seemed week so replaced with a known good one. The car has recently had a new EGR fitted.
Boost doesn't seem to be down that much.
I've taken the pipe off the turbo to check for play but all seems good.

Does anybody have any ideas where to look?

Could be dual mass flywheel m8......what mileage has it done?

 

89k. Clutch all seems ok. If it was DMF wouldn't that make screeching at all revs not just from 2500rpm?
My my Ghia x tdci done 109k and only just had clutch problems.

 

have you checked the crank pulley.

 

Yeah it's not that. Split the common egr pipe the other day and the screeched went away. Fixed and the screech back so guess I gotta cgeck all pipes for maybe a pin prick hole somewhere.

 

No joy in finding the screech yet. So far I've fitted egr delete kit, decat(knocked the insides out) and given the car a service because it didn't look like it had been done in a while.
Fitting the egr delete has made the screech sound louder. Also cleaned the turbo with mr muscle whilst the cat was off. I've done a boost leak test on all the pipe work including intercooler.

When driving the screech sounds as tho it's coming from the turbo area of the car. It's starts at 2500 rpm and fades away about 4000 rpm. If u give it a hard rev when stationary u can just hear a screech.

Running out of ideas now other than replacing the turbo
