Default ST170 antifreeze amount and type

So.... the thermostat housing plug fell out of my running engine. I now have to buy a new one and replace the antifreeze I have lost.

Is there a certain type I need to use on these engines? And how much will suffice to fill it?

Also, still have the stuttering with low petrol after the fuel pump replacement (if anyone has any more advice )

Thanks!

as for the running issue I would take it to your nearest tuner etc and let them run diagnostics or it can be like chasing your tail, anti freeze you can buy ready mixed OAT type for around Ł10 5litres as long as you get mix correct mixed types also work

Thanks for your reply.

So I need a pre-mixed OAT type. 5 litres will be enough?

I assume it's worth taking the radiator hoses off and completely emptying the antifreeze to replace it with new?

theres a drain plug on bottom corner of radiator thats best place to drain plus you can flush out system with hose pipe in header tank while undone

That's great, thanks.

I'll try and locate this drain plug when the wind and rain has stopped!

Is this a rubber plug that will need replacing or a plastic screw-on type that will be refitted?
