Not to sure why though. I would rather 4x4 since the handling is so much better.

Maybe better handling, but once i go stage 3 and get bored of it there is no other options regarding more power unless i buy a better gearbox (which i will NEVER be able to afford!) so Im thinking 2wd and give the car an injection of arse out fun
There is of course an alternative to having to shell out for a T5 box and associated gubings the mt75 box is known to be a very strong box and as you will probably know the lesser spec cheapo 2.0 twincam has such a box so its possible for a mechanicly minded person to convert the 4x4 box to rear wheel drive.
Plus you have the added bonus of being able to sell the transfer box to someone with either an 2.9 4x4, 2.0 sapphire 4x4, cosworth 4x4 or even an escort cosworth.
of course u will have to get a 2x sump but the 4x4 sump and diff should fetch around £150-175

martyn, You wont need to change the exsursted m8 4x4 ones fit swd but 2wd wont fit the 4x4 ect ect I cant belie you want to swop 4wd to 2wd Stg3 on the 4x4 box should be fine to a point so i have heared ect
But 2wd is fun

But 2wd is fun
martyn - get a 2wd MT75 gearbox from a dohc sierra, then swap the case over from your 4wd gearbox (or a spare box for that matter)
that way, you can leave the front shafts etc in there, and bolt the box up and have some fun - all with a simple box change

why not just disconect the driveshaft and put a plug in both ends? I was looking at this due to the U-joints being bad on mine. but ended up getting new ones to replace them.
Yours is a v6?
know of any turbocharged v6's? I am thinking about this myself.
