hi, would anyone know if bayjoo marks his chips or uses blank motorola standard chips and reprogrammes them.

ive just got one and theres no markings but there is solderin marks where new chip has been put in, this is standard looking motorola black chip?

ps: i have receipt for level 1 eprom £250 excluding vat, this was in 2000 at a garage called swillington auto care (leeds)

Erasable programmable read-only memory, i would have thought he bought the chips and programmed them using an EPROM programmer.

 

cheers for that m8.....just there is no markings...i did buy it off b8 (moderator) so im sure it will be ok. just there is no markings just solderin marks.

 

mine was eprom'd by turbosystems so i know it can be done to the motorola chip

like i've said via pm Andy the ECU was sold to me as bieng an Ahmed Unlimited Boost Chip, it ran with no problem on my own car @17psi...I didnt think to open the ECU up to check for stickers etc etc...I do however appreciate you wanting to be 100% certain.....as I have said if you have elements of doubt....sent it back and I'll happily refund you.

 

My Ahmed chip has a little white sticker on it with AB written in biro. My ECU was out of Steve RWs/Dave Es old car so I believe it might have been supplied by AVA originally.

no probs andy....ive found out more info like i said i would first...the chip has a window onit for uv light so it can be erased and reprogrammed by eprom programmer. the sticker covers this window but maybe its been taken off and reprogrammed....i took my old ecu out today and opened that, that has no window or solders like yours. thanks for bussiness andy and maybe we can deal in the future. sorry but i didnt have nothing to go off ie: sticker etc. peace of mind now, cooler and the rollin here i come.

When I had mine chipped by Ahmed a couple of years ago he normally marks on the outside of the ecu his initials, date & something else in permanent marker but I've changed my ecu since then so not sure what he does now
