diamond white rs1600i for sale,reduced £11950
well guys it time to start writing up some adds and first of all will be my diamond white rs1600i.
its a decision i may regret in the future as i have immensly enjoyed my time driving it this year.its such a well balanced car with superb handling along with its sweet revving engine and raspy exhaust note ,it has brought a smile to me everytime i had it out .
basically i have to many cars/projects and along with fast approaching 50 years of age next summer i need to
1 once and for all finish off my self build house that has been going on a eternity
2 get my mk3 track car finished, and out on track before may next year
i have owned the car for the past year.i bought it off a guy who imported it into ireland from the uk in 2008 .He never used it and just parked it up in his garage until i bought it last september.
From what i can tell from the history it has had approx 8 owners including myself .
its english registration was jwc 299y .it can go back on that registration in the uk should it be imported back .Their is no duty or vat to be paid if it sells back into uk either.
the car is showing approx 50k and i have some mots ,but i cant 100% verify mileage.
there is a folder of history with the car with approx £10,000 in receipts with the car which include
1 a full bare shell restoration in 2004 costing £4500
2 engine rebuild by oselli engineering £900
3 reconditioned gearbox £250
and loads of of other parts from full janspeed exhaust to new konis new lights etc
the car retains all its body panels except a wing[possibly],and a battery tray .Their was a small bit of welding to rear of drivers side footwell.
chassis numbers are all present and correct.
the body is in great condition with no big issues at all ,but would benefit from some small areas being repainted .
all floors /chasis legs etc are solid
i would imagine 300/500 would cover it .it wasnt anything that concerned me as i wanted to have a car that was drivable without worry [unlike my s1]
engine wise it pulls like a train benefiting from the full janspeed and uprated camshaft .has no cooling or oil burning issues.
it still retains its twin coil system ,with the ecu dash lights still working also.
suspension has konis and lowered jamex springs and is polybushed throughout
interior is excellent with a good straight dash only having one crack above the binnacle, but it is a couple of inches long but a easy repair .
all seats are supportive still with only small wear to drivers bolster but no tears or cigarette burns ,material is a bit loose but not overly so .the windows are non electric and non opening rear quaters .the car has a immobiliser
guys i have done about 4000 miles in the car to date including the welsh hills and valleys going to ford fair and the only slight down side has been ,a slightly sloppy gear linkage and a dry joint on the ignition switch.
if a uk buyer is interested i am less than 1 hour from dublin airport and port and can pick potential buyers up without a problem .
any queries just pm me thanks .
ps i will be advertising elsewhere if i have no interest on the site in the next few days, but i would prefer a enthusiast from here got her
thanks for looking and if i have missed anything please just say
price wise £11950 ono

Very VERY nice! I can't see this hanging around for long.
really well presented in the pictures
out of interest what other cars do you own? sounds like you have some interesting ones as people keep mentioning them.

It's good mate, I need to do a few touches to her to get her mint, but the engine is very good, I think the intercooler needs changing as it doesn't boost much (never driven a standard one till now so don't know if it is or not).
I have a stage 1 chip for it, so needs setting up and I've got some shark tooth alloys for it. Bit of tlc and shell be great bud. I'd love this rs1600 tho

You have some of my all time favourite cars. I hope they have given you some fun and not just been ornaments. Sounds like too many projects taking away from fun time. Btdt in the past with my projects and having a clear out was just like removing a big weight. At least hopefully the values have gone up since you bought them and I doubt you'd ever lose money the way most are going.
g88?
Thanks for the answer, I know some people don't like mentioning what they have.

thats the problem mate too many ornaments .i want to get out on track and have some fun .its hard to have fun on open roads anymore ,or maybe its just im getting old lol
Last s1 I drove was absolutely years ago, was a mates rusty shed which had a bleed valve on it (without the valve sorry but was slow as hell) with the valve was a rocket and good fun to drive.
my s1 is as standard as you can get except for a exhaust
