I purchased myself a project about a year ago now and it has just sat in my garage gathering dust.

MK4 Escort Bonus with 47k miles, F/S/H, 2 owners from new and as close to gleaming as you're going to get!

Original plan was going to be 2 Litre Zetec Turbo.

My daily driver is a Honda Civic Type R & don't get me wrong it is an absolute joy to hoon around B roads it has no character. This led me to a bright idea

PUT ALL THE RUNNING GEAR INTO THE ESCORT!

This is the plan for the car and the work will be carried out by Ian Walley from Ian Walley Racing (1000hp Yellow Ford Cortina).

I know I'm being very, very dirty by cross breeding and putting a Honda heart into a Ford body but such is life I suppose!

Hoping it's going to be a nice raw motor once it's all completed.

Ian is more than confident it will go in, he's just not sure how much fabrication it will require!

Following this one as its nice to see something a bit different, that shell looks mint!

 

The shell is immaculate. Car in general is immaculate to be fair.

I've already experience rot on a mk4 escort years ago when I had an ERST. I lifted the floor carpet one day... it never drove again after that!

Honda engines are awesome I'm suprised there isn't loads of these conversions

 

my mates putting a k20 into his mk1 golf , awesome engines , another mate has a supercharged k20 ek9 and it makes 400+ brake on an unopened engine

 

Looks a clean car. I know of Ian walley. His cortina is mad. I remember it used to a V6 twon turbo and super charged.

It's much better than the bullshit they have to say about it over on Type R Owners ha!

There is a catch though!! Build doesn't officially start until January as that's when Ian next has availability.

 

Certainly be something different, will be interesting to see it progress.
