Afternoon all

Not long picked up an S2 RST about 3 weeks after buying an E46 M3 and deciding it just wasn't for me.

From I gather this particular S2 has done the rounds over the years and is quite known. I've found 3 or 4 build threads for the same car at different stages of it's life.

Just starting this so I've got a place to log what do and when.

Fortunately the car doesn't actually need anything, I just plan to add my own touches to it.

This is the spec list as it stands:

Jamsport engine build replacing everything that moves.
Mahle pistons and uprated rods
Ground,balanced and polished crank
Balanced flywheel
Runs 10psi boost currently (Still on run in. Going back in 2 weeks for final set up)

Stage 2 head, newman cam and stainless valves
Stage 1 ecu
Hybrid t3.5 turbo mated cossie housing
Rs1600i front lower x member
S1 gearbox, Paddle clutch and lsd
Gaz coilovers all round
Focus St 170 300mm brake conversion up front
Cosworth brake setup rear
Steel braided fuel lines
New master cylinder
Samco hoses throughout
Bailey oil separator and blow off valve
Custom header tank
Hi flow alloy intercooler and rad
Bosch fuel pump and gen ford filter
Felpro head gasket set
Mfi unit tuned by Jamsport
Uprated turbo actuator

Body was completely restored about 9 years ago and is still pretty much spotless.

Initial plans are...

Paint bonnet to match body
Install short shift kit
Swap exhaust for 3" with a sports cat (currently 4" straight through. The drones a bit much)
Maybe swap indicator cases for amber ones.

Bar that I just plan on enjoying it this Summer.

Last Ford I had was a MR290 ST500 with pretty much everything Mountune offered and have regretted selling it ever since I did. I've missed the Ford scene so I'm back.

looks good fella, don't need no cat on a H plate, don't think a rst was ever fitted with a cat.

 

Ah good stuff. I didn't know that.

 

So yesterday I spent some time going round the car and noticed several little cracks in the paint work. Nothing major but enough for me to want to do something about it.

Instead of having all the little bits addressed I've to have the whole car stripped back and resprayed the original colour of Mercury Grey.

I'm popping down to see a friend on Saturday to have it all priced up.

Will keep this thread updated with the progress.
