Default Recommend me some tyres!

I'm after a new set of tyre for the escort. Something that will be a bit better with my new found power.

The car is currently on Toyo Proxes 4's as I wanted to keep the same rolling diameter as stock. However there is now practically no choice of tyre on a 40 profile.

So I'm after 205/45/16. (The car gets used all year round)

A touch on the steep side in that size, only thing I will say is mine had labels saying they are not to be used below 8degrees. So may not be ideal for you.

Run proxes 4's on my ST, I'm quite a fan of toyo as a whole but the proxes4s are wank! Useless in the dry n wet and not much good on track when hot was disappointed as the reviews are high on them!
I took at friends FRS out in track last year on r1r's and they were awesome!

Yeah the proxes 4's are dangerous in the wet, sadly the choice of tyres in a 205/40/16 is slim. Which is why I'm looking for the next profile up.

I didn't mind my T1R's on my old wheels. Although they had quite a soft sidewall and they didn't last long at all. I would have expected them to be much gripier the rate they wore out.

uniroyal rainsport 3's are just as good in the rain as the dry. I just bought a set at Ł65 each in a 17,

I suppose I could go for a 195/45/16. Just with the wheels being 16x7j 205 gives me more contact.

ive got 7js on my car and tbh the extra 10mm or what ever it is you get probably wont make much difference. The 195/45 just opens up more option to you and a little easier fitment. But its up to you really.
