My focus died on me yesterday at 70mph I managed to park up half on grass until trafficpolice arrived to stop Inside lane . Recovery vehicled away . The cars dashboards lights all came on and lost all power
The car would not start and alarm light was flashing all the time . The garage said my key was to blame and charged 40 pound reprogram and said be better to use spare one . Surely the key wouldent stop the car like that

 

Did it work ok after they reprogrammed the key? If so its highly likely that's what caused it.
