If this is a 1300 pop shell and the RST has been scrapped throw the V5 and VINS in the bin.

 

It comes with spares...

And I don't have a sunroof for it

Why would I do that?

 

Because the new owner will put the ID on it. It's happened for generations of classic fords though and I, sure it won't end any time soon.

Probably 50% of mk1/mk2 escorts are not original ID and as these get older they will go the same way as more people do what you have done.

 

Because it's now not an RS Turbo, it's a 1300 Pop With a turbo engine. So if he puts the VIN and plates on its a ringer.
If the RST shell has been scrapped then there's absolutely no need to keep its V5 and VIN plates... with the exception of breaking the law, of course.

 

Well it's the thought of keeping it alive, and it's only a S2... Nothing special

 

It's got doors, boot, glass, bonnet, loom, interior, shocks, nuts, bolts, wheels, body kit, number plates, vin, v5.... You know, it is all there. It's just the body that was bad. It hasn't been scrapped, it's sat behind a barn in a field acting as a green house for the weeds now...

I put this car up for sale and I was honest about it, could of not mentioned the reshell all together.

Exactly, it's also "just the body" which matters. You mentioned the reshell and didn't try pass it off as the original shell, fair one, but the plates and VINs don't belong on it as its already registered as a 1300, not a new, unregistered shell. At the end of the day do as you wish, I'm only commenting to tell you what you're doing is effectively illegal wether you knew it or not.
The car looks good, it's priced about right, it just doesn't need the RST ID with it.
I've scrapped load of RST's, RS2000's XR's and their ID's all went with them.
