Default Mk2 Fiesta Zetec Gearbox options?

Hi all,

I'm new to the site so this has probably been asked a few times!

I've got a mk2 Fiesta with 1.8 Silvertop fitted however it's running the original 4 speed fiesta gearbox. It's great for acceleration but it prevents me from using the car that often as it's always revving it's nuts off!

Does anyone know what 5 speed gearbox would be easiest to replace it with?

I'm no mechanic but I've plenty of recourses and handy people to help out with the swap.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Easiest conversion would be to use the BC box as found in the XR2. The IB5 box is another option but iirc it will need a hydraulic clutch conversion.

Id be looking for an S2 Turbo box with the LSD, will make a big difference with the Zetec! Fits straight in as well as same dimensions etc as an XR2 5 speeder.

Thanks for the pointers. A xr3 box popped up locally so I'm going to try that coupled with a puma linkage. Fingers crossed!
