Decent Headlight bulbs... Who uses what?

Default Decent Headlight bulbs... Who uses what?

Finally getting the Saff back on the road this year, got a list of things to do, including uprating the headlight bulbs for something brighter. Used higher wattage bulbs years ago, but found they don't last five minutes....
What's good when it comes to bulbs these days? I'm not interested in hid shite, just something that's going to be better standard H4's Just wondered if anyone had tried the many different types there are out there?

I put some Osram Nightbreakers in Claires MG, they made a huge difference and the headlamps even need buffing as they have gone cloudy. I think they do 2 others even better ones in the nightbreaker range but they didnt have our fitment in stock. (GSF)

Cheers Dave! That's the ones I was looking at on fleabay, seemed to be pretty good from the ad, but didn't know if that was a load of old shite!? Lol

If you read the reviews, bosch pure light range of bulbs usually come out on top.

I thought the halfords advanced bulbs were brighter than the osram nightbreakers I had.

Osram nightbreaker for me, now Ive fitted some brand new lights they are even brighter

I've used night breakers but they seem to not last long which is annoying. Now I use the brightest ones in halfords, 130% ish I think. Slightly brighter than night breakers, not failed yet

My personal recommendation are the Ring Sportz Blue bulbs. They are great and give out a white/blue light and look very similar to Xenon light from a distance. In my Orion, its what I am using....Over the years I have tried lots of different bulbs as I don't like the idea of HID's in non-projector headlights...Halfords, Night breakers, Cheap eBay bulbs, and I keep going back to the Sportz Blue

One thing I would recommend though is you should definitely put additional relays in the wiring system...that alone should give a considerable increase in light output!
