Default Hid kit info have I done it right :-)

Hi people

I've got some spot lights on my escort

I've brought a hid kit from eBay

I've fitted the hid in my spot lights

Plugged the bulb in to the ballast like normal

Now I'm left with a red and black wire

Can I wire them to a switch then a fuse then to the battery

Will that work and be OK

You will need a relay and they will need to take a feed from the main beam circuit to switch them so they only operate when main beam is operating. To be honest though the spot lamps will be designed to work with a halogen bulb not a HID bulb and as HID's take some time to come up to operating output their use here isn't very clever. This is why many HID equipped cars only use them on dipped beam and retain a halogen bulb for main beam.

To be blunt, I think you've boobed

The HID ballast should simply go between your bulb and the standard car connector. So you plug the car into the ballast and the bulb into the ballast.

What is the bulb type on the car and what bulb type kit did you buy?

Depends on the Escort

Probably easiest to just buy a spotlamp wiring kit which should come with everything you need and instructions.

Something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wiring-Kit...EobdJL6wrbBU9Q
