thanks for the waxoil recommendations chaps, worked a treat, im after a paint protection foam thats very thin for the bodykit on my golf vr6, one that you can curve around the arch as such so if doesnt mark the fresh painwork!

its a bit wide 20mm, i want one side only sticky as we have designed the bodykit with self tappers to take it off, for example to clean the mud out of the arches!

i have used that stuff for my sill strips though.

 

The above tape is also available in thinner rolls, definitely get a 3m tape though, the rest just seem to lose their stickiness after time
