Default Focus C-Max (04) Engine Rattle?

Morning All,

I recently purchased a MK1 C-Max and have loved it so far in the very short space of time i have owned it. The past two days though i have noticed a bit of a rattle coming from the engine bay which has sent a few alarm bells ringing as i have had no luck in sorting out a car as the one i chose previously got rejected.

The engine is a Duratec HE lump and having spent a good hour or so browsing the web last night, highlighted these potential issues which other people have mentioned;

- Timing chain or Cambelt "slack"
- AC Compressor
- Crank Pulley (bottom)
- Manifold flaps
- Injector fault

on the Manifold one, i did read that some have had the engine swallow these up causing a failure altogether? A friend did a diagnostic on the car the other day and came up with 3 fault codes;

U1900 Network - Instrument cluster issue (Mine works perfectly so not sure why this came up?

B1601 Body - Unprogrammed PATS key? (Car locks and unlocks fine, apart from the passenger rear door which never locks for some reason.

B1602 Body - Invalid key code format?

Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
