Default Puma race project

Hi,

I've got a project puma on the go that I want to turn into a track car. Going to keep the engine standard and focus upgrading the braking and suspension.

So far I've got 16" fiesta zetec rims. I want to put fiesta st brakes on it, I want to convert the rear drums to discs and I want to fit coilover suspension.

The front brakes should be a direct fit, except the brake hoses. What brake hoses do I need? Part number would be useful, as well as for st calipers, carriers and discs.

The original wheels had an offset of et35, the new wheels are et 46. Should I fit any spacers?

Thanks guys

I've got a set of fiesta st front calipers, carriers and all the bolts if you want them, could probably do with a refurb.

I would have thought the brake hoses would fit with the ST calipers, but if not couldn't you get a set of braided hoses for a fiesta ST?

If they need a refurb, 40 quid? Also would you pop the pistons out? Would make life a bit easier.

Yeah, you can have them for 40

Do you want the piston taking out to reduce weight for postage or to save time? I don't have the tools to do it either so I'd have to improvise with a foot pump. They may not need a refurb, but they are not mint by any means

Do you need them urgent? I can have them to you by Christmas, it will take me a while to take the pistons out and get them wrapped up etc.

We can sort the rest out by pm, cheers!

Fit mk3 mondeo caliperd and st170 300 mm brake discs.

I fitted 20mm rear axle spacers to mine and the bottom front strut brace. These mods defo helped with the handling.

I miss my pooma it was a fun car. Get a set of good bucket seats fitted too.

Don't you have to drill out the hub carriers to get the mondeo calipers to fit? The fiesta st brakes bolt straight on, and I don't want to weaken the hub- looks a bit crusty.

I want the pistons out to make replacing the seals a bit easier- just thought if you had them still on the car you could push the brake pedal to get them out, but if you've not don't worry about it. Would need it a bit sooner than christmas tbh as I want to get it into the college workshop before term finishes.

Yerp the hole is only slighty bigger.

I had these on my pooma for over a year and had no problems with them.

If you run standard 15" wheels you may have to grind the caliper on the 300 kit, I run ST150s on both my Fiesta & Pooma & have no troubles whatsoever

The st150 & st170 share pads too

I've got 16s fitted from the fiesta zetec, so I guess clearance isn't an issue, but I reckon for my purposes 280mm will be adequate. I'll post some pictures up when I get a chance. First I need to address the sills.
