Default Most luxurious car for under £1,500!

Been thinking here! I have just under £1,500 saved and being 41 with full no claims and only doing a few miles a day so insurance is not a problem as is fuel costs.....

For £1,500 or under no matter what age, make etc as long as it is automatic due to me undergoing physio on my left leg.....What car has the most luxury as in equipment, not bothered about style just want some luxury thing to cruise about in

I'd probably be looking at a V8 7 Series. The E38 with a V8, although I do love the naturally balanced nature of a straight 6.

Would you get a decent e38 v8 for £1500?

I've just bought a Volvo C70 convertible to smoke around next summer.

Leather every where, heated front seats and a low milage 2.4T I paid just over a third of your budget.

In fact the tax is dearer than the insurance. Grrr

For me it would be a 7 or an XJ. I prefer the XJ but think the 7 series would be a more reliable prospect especially if you were happy for the slower but bullet proof 728!

Out of interest here mate as I see you have a Saph Cossie too, what is your 750i like to run compared to your Saff?

After much looking around and great help on here I will be getting either a 7 series or an A8

keep an eye on this, although because of the mileage it will probably go beyond your budget

the cossie is cheep to run, well it's more economical for a start.

Had the water pump fail in the bmw, run me for £600 ish in belts, seals, pulleys and pump.

there's always a few being broken for spares and no one really asks much for them.

its a big heavy car, so bushes wear quickly, and there's wiring everywhere along with black boxes if electronics, if you can't diy ( bodge ) it, then could potentially financially ruien you!

there it's done knowledgeable people on forums tho, so that helps.

when it dies, I'd probably get another it something from the same era by Mercedes but v8

The good thing about the a8 is it'll have an all aluminium chassis and rust won't be an issue as such, one of the main reasons I bought mine .

Not too clued up on the d2 as you won't get a d3 for £1500 but they'll hold their money really well and will be around a lot longer than most the other choices.
