Default Ford Scorpio Diferential Doubts

Hi,

I have a doubt related to a Ford Scorpio Differential with the following reference:

85BB AA 362

4A 9E 08.

Is It a LSD diferential?

Best Regards,

José Novo

Only way to know for certain is try to rotate the rear tyres/flanges. If they rotate in opposite directions, no LSD. If there is a working LSD inside, they should rotate in the same direction, and resist noticeably if you try to rotate one without the other.

Hi All,

Thanks for the reply.

The part number is 83bg 4033 ba instead of the above and it is a LSD diff.

I thought the AA codes where LSDs, and seeing that the ratio is 3.62 could mean it's a 7" diff from a Scorpio 4x4 (Granada mk3 in UK). But to be sure just turn the drive flanges in opposite direction and see if there's a lot resistance. If yes, then it's an LSD. If no, it's not an LSD, or the LSD is worn out.
