Default Stop leak treatment

Does stop leak treatment work? Has anyone had any experiences with this additive? Basically the crackshaft oil seal is leaking on the wife's focus and can't be arsed to change it due to the car being a wreck and will be replaced next year.

I had a pug 206 I bought to sell on and the morning I drove it to work for the mot it was bellowing out smoke on the dual carriageway, thought great. Got it on the ramp at work and dumped the oil, bought 2x Cans of stp oil treatment and added them to the 3.5 litres of oil I put back in the engine and changed the oil filter , drove it home that evening and smoked a little, next morning there was no smoke so motd it and sold it on. That was April this year and saw it the other day going round my area still with no smoke I also had a mondeo auto earlier this year and I got it for £200 as the auto box was leaking and u had to top it up every month, I put a can of power steering stop leak in it once a week for two weeks and it lasted us 6 months driving all over the country and then started weeping again so I added more and sold it on when we got our new car
