Brake problems
Hi I recently rebuilt my brake system bleeding from a dry setup followed the workshop manual instructions the left caliper has acceptable brake pressure but on the right caliper I can't even get any fluid to it under pressure the pedal is rock hard , I removed the line from the master cylinder and pumped got not the best result can this unit be rebuilt its on a 2wd sapphire cosworth
The rear line is shared between both so of its got pressure on one side it should be the Same on the other
You've been using the ignition to build up the pressure correct?

we are basing our assumptions on the later abs setups, which have a separate master cylinder setup and a separate abs valve block
in which the master has one feed to the block for the rear line, one feed to the block for the front line and another return back from the block
the block then has 2 inputs and 4 outputs, one return to master, one line to the rear and one for each front
one the early versions the block was integrated into the master assembly
if you have the later one then you should be seeing pressure from the master to the block and it will be the output that is the problem, sometimes these have been caused by something as simple as an air lock

I guess that is where the confusion comes from. On the LHD cars the master cylinders and valve blocks are always integrated. So I was only talking about the lines towards the calipers.
