Default Walk in Scrap yards in Coventry

Hi guys,

I'm looking for some scrap yards in Coventry/Nuneaton where one can walk in and take parts from cars. I'm new in the area, so have no idea how things work here.
Previous place I used you went there with your tools and vest, took the parts you wanted from the car and asked for a price to a guy. He would write an invoice to pay on the office. Not sure if it works the same everywhere.

I'm trying to retrofit my car with an additional engine heater, but since the car didn't come with one from factory I need the wiring, plugs and control unit, which I'm having trouble finding in a normal scrap yard or eBay.

Any advice? A quick online search revealed the 'Whites' and 'Rowleys' as two possible places but I've been unable to call them to check. Any feedback on these?

Thanks

Trouble is most of them these days wont let you wander round and take parts off yourself, probably some Health and Safety bull shit !
Years ago it was the normal thing but now you go to a counter , they put what you want into a computer and if it isnt listed tough, they say," sorry cant help you."

dont get me wrong - Ł1 to enter and take any parts you want sounds like a sweet idea to me, but i would imagine they're losing out on lots of money there.... should get myself there and become self employed selling car parts ! lol

my locals cheap enough so i cant complain really.

ah you said you pay Ł1 towards their inflation costs and you can take off what you want, assumed you meant you could take a lot of bits for a quid! lol
