i need as many pics of white 3doors as possible, need them to be of anything

i.e engine bays, tailgate , all profiles, trim shots, pics of cars in bits


also need some info
what colour are the boot decals on a white car
what decals are under the bonnet
are there any other decals externally i.e pinstripes

or if anybody in the essex area is willing to meet up with me and doesn't mind me taking loads of pics of different parts of there cars

trying to restore a basket case and its in boxes of bits at the mo

Hello mate,

Like you i'm restoring a White 3 door Cosworth, although it's White with Red and Blue stripes at the moment as well as having some very fethching 'Chic' graphics too (don't ask) !!!

The boot decals on a White 3 door are a dark grey/very nearly black colour (i bought a repro decal from PJG Graphics for Ł7.50 and it's spot on) and will look the part when it's finally painted.

The aren't any standard pinstripes or any other decals on a standard car so you've owt else to worry about. There are a fair few decals under the bonnet (1xairbox, 1 x slam panel, etc, etc) and these are often availble as repro's at various Ford type shows for between Ł15-Ł25 a set.

I wish you all the best in trying to get yours sorted and beween us we can put another two Diamond White 3 doors back on the roads.

i got a load of parts so if you need anything (no money deal, will onlys swap parts for parts) i have 2 mates restoring them (1 black, 1 white) as well, so there are parts galore for em round my way !

but i am doing mine as std (except engine) so i need to know the ins and outs of a ducks ass

Cheers m8; i'll keep your offer in mind. I'm nearly there though now. I've bought new genuine wings, bonnet, doors, bonnet vents, rear panel, 'one key' lockset, tailgate, grill rubber, wind deflector, aerial, gearknob, RS embossed steeering wheel, Koni's, front bumper, straight desilenced through exhaust, door striker latches, bonnet catch, front indicators, front headlamps, front fogs, side repeaters, rear clusters, front splitter, rear clusters, 2x period Ford oval badges, polybushes, Tar Ox 40 slot discs font+back, Greenstuff pads, K&N filter, 3 bar map sensor, 4 x green injectors, stg3 chip, rocker cover + s/s bolts, washer bottle, plenum chamber, lower dashboard, replacement interior to make up one good set, a set of 17" Rondells with Pirelli P7000's/a set of 17" TSW Hockenheims (i'm not too sure which to put on yet .... to name but a few bits. Just waiting for the paint man now.

most of the stuff is there albeit very tired plus i have been collecting parts for a little whilst i looked for a shell, however this car came up and at the money i couldn't resist it is a whole car less engine, g/box, doors complete, front bumper, engine loom, ecu + some odds and sods

i now have most parts to complete, however if you have read most of my posts you will see i need a pair of doors complete + tailgate, as mine is rotten

the body, on close inspection isn't as bad as i initially thought, it needs a pain in the arse repair to the n/s inner wing around the strut top and repairs to both sides in the top corners of the b/head (where they all seem to go), the spare wheel well is a bit crusty, but the chassis rails are remarkably good (which was a shock)

i have got a bit of a welding challenge ahead of me but being used to old fords, it comes with the territory, i have jsut rented a new w/shop with a mate of mine so we are going to do the pair of them in there, it will be all welded up, painted and then rebuilt all by me as that is my whole point of doing them, i have a saff at the mo which i am going to rob some bits from i.e engine and box from so that will help , it is sitting at the moment looking very sorry for itself with a cover over it waiting for the start (hence no pics yet)
whoever painted the car before i got it wants shooting as it is probably the worst paint job i have ever seen

some other points i need to know is are all the sierra range inner wings i.e turret position all the same as i am going to have to cut a section out of a shitter to repair my inner wing and i wanted to know if i can cut up any sierra
I want to keep it as original as possible even to the point i have original wheels going on it ! i have wanted one of these in white since the day they were launched, my ex partners sister-in-laws dad (top man at fords) got a awhite one delivered on there release and she borrowed it that night and drove it round to show me (i was mk2 esccy mad) i remember sitting in it thinking it was the maddest thing i had ever seen ........and so the seed was sown
I cannot wait till its done as i still think they are a head turner today
