Default MK1 Focus 3/5 door roll cage

Hi Guys,

quick question that I cant seem to find an answer to anywhere.

I have an old mk1 5 door focus that I am going to be turning into a track car for the misses, and I cant seem to find out if a roll cage from a 3 door will fit a 5 door.

I have spoken to safety devices and they don't know, as they have never fitted one to a 5 door.

I cant see any reason why it wouldn't fit, as surely they are basically the same size internally. only thing I can see would be the position of the B pillar upright on the cage, as this may be further back on the 5 door (not sure if the 3 door has longer doors). but cant see that causing a major problem.

don't really want to go down the route of a custom cage but may have to.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Adam

It should fit, but the roll over hoop will sit further back from the 'B' piller.

3 doors have bigger doors yes, my advise would be get a bespoke cage, will cost about the same and be a perfect fit.
