Default personal number plates

been looking to get a personal number plate for my car, ive done a google search and forund 3 or 4 companies selling the same plates, all different prices.

obviously they are acting as an agent and they're taking their cut off the price.

is there any way to find who actually owns the plate? id rather cut out the middle man and do the deal direct with the owner.

also can anyone recommend a good company, if im going to buy through an agent, id rather use a recommended place and have a hassle free purchase, even if it was a bit more expensive

Never pay the requested price straight off. Always try a lower offer - It's worked for me.
Cheers, John

Always check and see if it's available on the dvla website as they'll be the cheapest

Save your money !! never see the fascination in uk plates that actually say what the owners think unless they are dyslexic drunk and doing a cart wheel whilst squinting past the number plate

im of the same opinion, Im not a fan of dodgy spacing, distorting letters and just random ones trying and failing to say something.

All I want is a simple shorter number plate with my name or initials.

I too would be interest to know if you can find out who actually owns the number and how you could them go about contacting them directly.

Quite like personal plates myself, especially ones on company vans with witty plays on their trade or business name.

Just dont use these guys.. http://www.r4v.co.uk/

Scammers. most the plates on the site aren't even for sale and sitting on someones car. 100's of court orders against them including mine. they just fold the company every couple years then start the scamming again.

I quite like the plates but it's a personal thing. I know plenty of folk who think it's a pointless waste of time and money. Everytime I look at my A4 with its A4 plate I grin. My Mrs loves the HJ plate I got her
