Default Indicator/Hazard Light Probs -Help!!

I'm in need of some advice. If I put my hazards on (which don't work) my indicators stop working. Is this down to the switch putting them out of action? The indicators work fine but I can't get the hazards to work, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Without seeing or testing sounds like you need a new indicator stalk

Thank you for your reply. However I have changed the stalk today, but no success. Any Ideas on what else it could be. (maybe a relay). Only been an rsoc 2months and I'm not very computer literate. Had the 4X4 for 5months and am slowly going through the issues on the car.

There is a flasher relay behind the instrument panel clipped between the heater vent pipe and the dash metal support bracket
If the stalk hasn't fixed it it'll most likely be that one
But also the fusebox can cause these issues too as that's what it turned out to be on mine

Hazards have their own relay and fuse, don't remember where but you can find the haynes manual online with a quick googling. Found this when I noticed hazards work even when the indicator fuse is blown.

The flasher relay is much taller than a standard relay but I'm not sure if they were the same on any other car
