strange afr on cruise
hi guys,
Last week I bought a afr gauge to solve the problem of detonation.
I have at idle 13.8-14.1
at full boost WOT 11.8-12.0
but on cruise I have 13.8 and accelerating increases to 14.5 then pressing down the accelerator goes to 11.8-12.
I think that the values on cruise is incorrect.
I've already checked the TPS but is adjusted perfectly.
who can help me?

Those AFR's are fine for an MFI RST assuming that's what it is?
If you are experiencing detonation then you need to retard the timing or lower your boost or perhaps your ACT/MAT is too high.

hi karl
yes, it's an MFI RST
the timing is set at 12 deg and the boost is set to 7 psi (all std).
i don't understand why the afr on cruise is lowest compared to afr under accelleration. It shouldn't be the opposite

The fuelling system is 25 years old and is most likely not as accurate as it once was maintaining the correct fuel pressure.
I would not worry as those AFR's are safe, if anything you are rich on boost.
