Bike carbs on ST170 manifold

Bike carbs on ST170 manifold
Has anyone on here done this & can you tell me how you did it? Problem is carbs I'm using are 36mm so 38mm fluoro-lined hose should just stretch over the 40mm dia. barrells but won't open up enough for the ST170 inlets, which are much bigger
