Default focus sub

Hi, the sub in my focus blew and i got another secondhand,(kenwood t10 0878 08)The original sub had just 1 voice coil but the kenwood has 2, i have just wired to one set of connectors but now it seems to be trying to play higher frequencys as well as the low so do i need to wire it differently ie http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/le... or http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/le...
problem is i dont know anything about the sub or the amp, the amp is the original option one and i cant find info on the sub, help.

My focus has the built in sub which tbh is not the best but I would think its matched with the specific audiophile head unit which has the built in crossovers etc to send the right frequencys anything non oe unless of the exact same range will sound odd

if re using the OE sub box simply use the correct wiring for the amp and speaker being used and ignore fords totally as its very low rated

If it has 2 voice coils and your original was 1 then you have to link the 2 voice coils together as you maybe using the wrong impedance. You need the positive on the one coil linking to the negative on the other coil.
