Default Engine Rebuild Questions

OK the time has come to have the lump of my S2 rebuilt for more power (its currently done 130,000 miles as standard), most likely at Motorsport Developments (excellent reputation etc.).

I've a budget of £3500 to spend, I'd like the engine completely rebuilt, bigger intercooler (Possibly chargecooler), clutch, new/reconditioned turbo.

My aim is 200BHP+, but I really need the car to be reliable (obviously within reason), therefore from peoples experience is it worth going up to a 1.9 or staying with the 1.6?

Any advice/ideas is really appreciated

Thanks

Mark

If thats the case then i would also be considering strengthening the transmission
