Default Wheel refurbs

Been looking for decent set of 17s for bloody ages in the end I have given up looking , booked my wheels in next week for a full strip down and powder coat refurb, I will be using a tried and tested wheel refurber so you guys can make your judgement on the work done, my wheels are standard st170 alloys with laquer peel and decay and will take some before and after pics just so you all know

I need to get my winter wheels refurbed. They're peeling badly, which didn't bother me really as I bought them cheap because of it, and they're winter wheels, but I'd still like them to look decent. Local place is £300 for strip, filler and paint for a set of four 17's! So to me, £192 is good, but I doubt they'd come out from HP3 to CM18 to collect and drop them off...

If I could find a local small business to drop them too and collect later, for say £35/40 a wheel, that'd suit me fine.

Yeah dont get me wrong its only decent if your local, i was just shocked to see what prices were elsewhere in the country. There are 4 places local to me, the most expensive being £35 a wheel upto 18".

That's what I need. A cheap, local, £35 a wheel place to just blast them bare, bit of filler to fix the gouges and then powder them.

You cant use filler then powder coat , the heat will blow the filler out,

Damage has to be welded then machined back.

Paintit uk in Billericay are a decent outfit, all done in house and they have their own computer controlled lathe for diamond cutting.

used to use them a fair bit back in the day, not many companys collect from your home and deliver back in a few days for FREE, was just sick of seeing flaking ford coatings and bubbling so booked mine in for tuesday as nobody had any in decent nick, will post pics up once done

Shows what I know about powder coating then! What do Paintit charge per wheel then? By the sounds of it, more than £30-£40 a wheel I'm guessing....

they look ace, well worth the money

now, city powder coating - google their reviews and you'll be surprised on how pants they are!£20 a wheel isn't bad if your selling the car ...if you get the wheels back of course!
