Default Cosworth powered Cobra kit car...

Having a debate in the office about whether this is cool or not, but I love it! So many Cobra replicas are crap because of the Essex V6 or Rover V8 engines in them. Love the fact this is so different.

It's a nice thing but a AC Cobra should have a big sweaty V8 in them Imo.

I bet it's a hand full with the cossie engine in it.

The whole point of a cobra is a big shouty V8, loads of lazy grunt just because you can. A highly stressed 4 pot turbo isnt really in with the character of them really.

The amount of Cobra replicas that actually have any grunt is hilariously low though, that's what this would be fun!

It'll go well, but I'd still rather have one with a whopping great power V8 in it.

My dad built a few Cobras and did not rate the pilgrim I think, none of them handled as well as you might hope.
Everyone would be waiting to hear it start up and then be disappointed. Got to be v8 noise no matter how fast or slow it goes.

Agreed, lots of poverty spec V8 builds out there, if you're going to do it, it needs to be done right. As for the cossie one, I'm not fan, but I bet its good fun and obviously quick.

One of my engineers at work has a Gardner Douglas (regarded as one of the better kits) with a proper 5.7 Chevy v8 with edlebrock bits on it, glorious noise and some real power.

Too many rover v8 poverty builds out there nowadays

That's cool! Nice to see something different. Dax made a few cobra replicas that were Cosworth 4wd and used a lot of Sierra parts. They only made a few and they were registered as new cars. Seen one at kit car show, they didn't look right tho as they had sapphire lattice wheels! But we're tuned to 300hp. They moved on to the dax Rush instead.
