Default Peugeot 207 EPAS - HELP!!

Mrs was coming home from work tonight and the radio cutout for a second followed by the EPAS fault light on the dash and very heavy steering. Obviously something's gone tits up with it.

Anybody know anything about these and where to start looking?

I would check battery condition and alternator output as a starting point.

Check alternator but be vry carful that the earth from battery down to gearbox hasn't melted and snaped. Remove battery and tray to check if you don't know how to dogma volt drop check seen this loads wire looks to short form factory.
