Smile Donington - Sunday 19th July 2015

Hi,

Just a quick note to say the track part of the RS meeting at Donington opens on 1st May to non RSOC members.

Price: £180 which includes entry to the show (of course) for 2 people with the car (a driver and a passenger) on a trailer or not

It would be great to get some more Fords on the track if anyone fancies it and of course the visiting club parts are very welcome as usual.

Thanks,

Justin

Very good value that price for Donington park, and even more so that it is a noisy day.

For example 2 days earlier with bookatrack it is £295 , with a lower noise limit.

cannot be helped if other shows are on on the same day.

just a shame the rs owners may be going to others shows and not supporting their own show.

Default FAO RSOC people

Got a quick question regarding national day.

I am a member but not bring my RS this year. Will be coming in my daily Mondeo ST Tdci.

What's the safest option for parking as the public car park has such a bad name and I just don't trust anyone.

I did ask on the rsoc Facebook page, but that seems deader than the website

Cheers, Billy

You will be fine Billy, they have Security on before you even get to the Car Park. Come in using the same entrance as the pits or follow the Sunday Market signs, you will see the Security hut and park near the main gate.

Don't come in via the Museum as the gravel road is like the moon

this show is mega tiny compared to ford fair and will be liitle for kids to be interested in, theft from outside donington is huge problem with pikey camps close by so I would advise you stick to ford fair and ford fest this year

in a balanced opinion theft & damage can happen at any venue be it run by kelsey or any owners club, some venues like donington and santa pod are well known for being the worst, so unless you are actually a part of a club or stand with infield parking its a big risk, the criminal element use public carparks thesedays for personal shopping or jealous idiots damage cars in spite

They actually have a lot for kids to do. Bouncy castle etc not to mention cars on track and show cars to look at. Plus kids are free entry and what more does ford fair have in the entertainment area then any other car show?

Been to nat day for last 4 years and unless your on track or have mag feature car its a poor event, my dad would call it flogging a dead horse and i have finally given up on it and i did find out what attractions they have this year too, after 5 mins a bouncy castle and a ice cream will lose it appeal and very few kids will find it appealing unless bribed, i see pf are at uxbridge on same day so im gonna pop along in the safe public car park and check that out, funny how many rs local groups are doing the same too if nat day is so good

Not saying it's so good, was just saying that it has the same kids entertainment as any other car show.

As for security, this is life, there will always be a scumbag trying to take something that isn't theirs.

Anyway, can't wait to see the genuine RS500 touring cars on track

Lee, Tinshaw is only in Stoke so it's pretty local for him plus it's Dads and Lads weekend.
I can appreciate travelling miles over the years and being disappointed is a fair comment but your picture says it all

I can never understand why people compare Ford Fair and National Day with each other, it's like saying Manchester United and Macclesfield Town are the same as they both play football

Tinshaw you can have infield parking for £5 extra, thus giving you £20 on the gate with your lad free

I think I can answer that for lee as I did see the list a month or so back which is what he must have seen, rs local groups irrc are middx&surrey, beds, bucks, berks & oxon regions and we are there with 50+ cars, but these regions are all this way so no doubt they fancied doing a local ish event rather than the trek up north to nd

You really are a tool, mega poster, and only ever slating the club that organises the majority of the ford shows.

its a lot smaller yes as its a RS owners club....not a capri club, granada club, cortina club or any other FORD club....that why its a lot smalle than Ford Fair but the club it trying to make it better and need the support from everyone and does not need people like you slagging it off.

Donington was bad years ago however the rsoc have arrange for inside parking so you can park safely and have peace of mind whilst at the show.

these groups should be ashamed.

the ONE main day of the rsoc and they are not attending because its a bit far away!

what about everyone else attending doing lots of miles.

we all know the rsoc is getting smaller and it needs supporting even more now more than ever, no excuses about it being too far away, they have had plenty of time to make themselves ready for the main day of the rsoc.

Would it be better for them to have the rsoc main day on their doorstep, that way everyone else from around the country can travel to them.

It isnt good Dave I agree local groups should support the RSOC but things are not right at the moment and this situation needs looking into
