Default idle speed control valve problem

hi,ive just done a resto on my 2wd sapphire. ive got it running but with the idle speed control valve connected it revs up to about 2000 rpm, its like the idle valve is just fully open when pugged in. Apart from that it idles fine unplugged any ideas would be great cheers.

Try cleaning the connector. Sometimes I've found disconnecting the connector once the car has started and then reconnecting it cures it. Failing that you need to dismantle it and clean it out....
