330d/335d m sport touring
Another thread on BMW's

Think a few people on here have had/have these, I'm currently looking for one and they all seem to be around the 10K mark for 07 - 08's with around 100k on them.
Is that about right? There's a few rougher looking examples knocking about but I want on as clean as I can get tbh!
Would like an 09 facelift if I could get one at the right price!

i have a 335d e92-its a 57 plate
seems to be a good fast economical car
havent had it long enough to get remapped or anything yet
i also have a 530d estate-e61 remapped deflapped dpf removed-i like that a lot to drive[doggie transport]
the 6 cylinder diesels all suffer from the same failings-main thermostats.egr thermostats, glow plugs, glowplug control units, flap failure/oil leaks at flaps
the 3 series suffer from light modules and above
if fitted with i drive this can fail
my 3 series has 19" wheels non rft and is a little harsh in the ride
my e61 is an early car with 18" rft and is a little jiggily over uneven roads but this is better on later cars-both mine have bmw m sport suspension package

10k about right as a starting point
insist on a scan with solus etc-as the heater relay and glowplugs dont fire up a warning light-also use the solus to check it gets up to correct operating temp[well above 70 deg] if it doesnt its likely to need both thermostats done[main one is nippy and an hour and a half work[ish] egr stat-five minutes
there is also a hidden menu on the dash for engine temp[no gauge fitted]
important that a standard car has all glowplugs working and gets up to temp as a faulty glowplug stops the dpf regen and it soots up dpf quick as it runs rich if stats are poor
yes-great cars to drive,335d 6 seconds to 60 standard and nippy top end-bags of grunt, and thats before a remap .....lol

you can get instructions on youtube etc on the menu -you wont get the fault codes for the heater plugs /heater plug relay etc though-needs scanned with decent kit
most of them need heater relays and heater plugs tbh-you have to remove inlet for the heater plugs and if doing one its as well doing all six-the relay can be done without inlet removal but its extremely tight-much easier with inlet removed

Only experience of the 330d, watch for warping discs done cheap.
Thermostats as stated, i had to put mine in sport down motorway to get temp up as power was down significantly. Stats weren't expensive (gates are genuine bmw ones), over an hour to do.
Wiper motors get gummed up with grease, half hour job, may need a replacement relay too.
front tca's and tie bars on rear wear, again not that expensive or time consuming.
That's the bad so far, tyre wear could be a problem....
Remapped and it does like to shake is arse lol!
Get as many toys as possible, xenon lights are a must, i drive and sat nav too.
Got to be an m sport too, so much nicer looking.
