17" wheels rubbing inner arches!

I have recently purchased a set of 17" 5 spokes to fit on my mk1 04 reg focus. No sooner after fitting i noticed that on full lock the wheels rub the inner arches.





Ive removed them and replaced the original ford alloys the car came with until i decide what to do.

I am undecided as to whether to purchase a full set of lower profile tyres (a little more expense than i was hoping for) or just sell them and purchase a smaller set, 15 or 16" perhaps.

Whats people thought?
