Talking Newbie Fiesta ST

Hi all, I'm probably posting in the wrong area, but here I go anyway!

Just bought a Fiesta ST 54 plate, as it sits, it's totally standard as it just left the factory, I want to start modding it, but as an absolute novice, haven't got a clue where to start.

I don't have a massive budget, could probably afford about £300 a month to spend on it, so no massive Mountune quick fixes. I don't really want the bodywork/exterior to change too much, so think more about performance/BHP increases/making it sound like the devil is having an orgasm!

But I'm clueless where to start! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

The Other half had a fairly standard ST but the best mod she did was change the stupid air intake system for a K&N cone. Not only does it make it sound a bit better (rather than an asthmatic cow) but gets rid of the idling bounce some cars have.

Welcome to Pf and congratulations for actually driving a Ford as half us don't seem to these days

Agree with above, a K&N cone filter improves these no end as the airbox seems really restrictive. Rather than spunking your £300 each month on bits build a plan and save up to do the work.

A friend of mine had the Mountune 185 kit on his ST and it went quite nicely and sounded good too.

Welcome to pf. Get some rear axle/wheel spacers for it too to make it handle better.

^^ Other half had axle spacers on the back too

What it looked like before she sold it:
(K&N, Bilstein B12 suspension (or just lowering springs I can't remember), axle spacers and 7x17 ET34 multispokes.

Yup - they were the exact same ones I used to have on my Puma. Different set though as sold them with the Puma. Cherie = copycat

Welcome mate, I have a Fiesta ST (just put up for sale!) which is a great thing, has a K&N induction kit, TD 1.2 alloy wheels etc. It also has Gaz Gold Coilovers. If you want to lower I would advise against it unless you have a very strong back! My god they are bumpy!!!!! It can go looow though!
