Default tyre compressor

any good ones around. don't mind using the petrol station but would like to see if there is something reasonable priced (not cheap) that i could keep at home to top up tyres if nesccesary.

between us we have 3 cars so it will get used, wouldn't want to spend £300 on a noisy compressor, though i will buy a second hand one if it turns up local

type Mercedes tyre compressor into ebay. Its a great little tool that comes as standard. Plugs into socket in car. Great bit of kit.

why not get a small air compressor, direct drive, but would be far quicker than something 12v powered.
less than £100 you could get you sorted, much the same as a petrol station uses anyway.

I have a Michelin one from halfrauds and hasn't let me down. Doesn't take long either to inflate.

Got a RAC branded one from Halfords for about £30-35, it's pretty quick as far as 12v compressors go, it put 10psi in a tyre in about 2mins. Plus it's Screen lights up for use in the dark and a really bright LED light aswell which comes in handy if you need to use it at night

Been looking at the ring one, is there any advantage to a mains one over a 12v one, as you don't see many mains pumps

i got a cheap 13a 30 litre tank jobber off ebay for £40 and it's one of the most useful things in the garage. makes topping up tyres so easy and can be used with a windy gun when changing over winter and summer wheels as well as for drying off bikes and motorbikes after washing them. i wouldn't be without one now.

They're all bloody noisy !!

If you expect to use it a lot, a proper small compressor would be best.
