Default Do you get full wide open throttle?

Just curious as the whether most people get fully closed/WOT or whether the readings will start just after 0 and finish just under 100

Only asking as on my car (cosworth 4x4 pf09 set up) my off throttle fully closed reading is between 2-4% and my WOT is roughly 95% and that is with the throttle cable disconnected and pushing it fully open/closed by hand

It's no major issue, just as my dash display shows throttle position id of liked it to show 0% closed and 100% WOT

The dash displays ecu out put so could this be recalibrated in the map to show 0% & 100%

Thanks
Marc

Is it percentage or degrees?
YB throttle max is 82degrees

That is in percentage mate as the ecu is configured volts = %

You can configure the ecu from the raw values to the output display or if your inputting analogue to the dash use a maths channel to display the range correctly.

Irrelevant in this case.

YOU will define the percentage opening relative to voltage in sensor linearisations in the software.

It's handy do use say 5-95 for the simple reason anywhere outside these can be used for fault detection.

But you can use 0-100% if you want

Ok so not out of the ordinary then, il leave as it is for now

Only thing il eventually use it for is for video overlay to display brake/throttle on video footage (need to add brake pedal sensor)

Again from a diagnostic and user friendliness point of view...

Firstly, it would be nice that full pedal travel did in fact yield a blade that is open against it's fully open stops.

I'd then set this as 95% in the Sensor linearisation in the software. ( it should never go higher...if you display higher, then you know there's a fault )

The closed...some EFI setups will run a fully closed blade and all idle air functions will be from the idle valve or motor etc.
Some will prefer the blade to be partially open, with the idle valve doing less work.

Aftermarket..up to you really and how good the system is. I prefer a good warm idle with the idle valve almost closed and using a small fixed blade opening. Idle valve has less work to do, and it's usually easier to achieve a good strong idle
Whether you set this base to 0%, or the fully closed to 0%..up to you. I'd be happy to have this base "closed" position displayed value at 5%.

Again it means you can monitor position and if it changes for some reason ( it often does slightly from cold-warm ). Or you may not use an idle air valve at all.
But having a closed value of say 5% allows you to adjust idle, overrun settings etc without having to manually reset the blade/software to 0% each time

I don't run an idle valve at all as it's got an ALS valve

Then as you may mechanically/manually move the blade from time to time, I wouldnt be setting a base value of 0% unless it is actually a fully closed 0% and then you re-adjust to the open idle position you need to achieve your idle speed.

If you set it to display 0% where it currently idles now, the blade could close further and you wouldnt realise as it would still display 0% although the voltage would change

Ultimately if everything is configured correctly around your closed/open values, it doesnt really matter though, but it's nice to have the displayed numbers mean something sensible to yourself and others.
