Default Fitting a Double Din Head unit in a Saph Dash?

Has this been done?
i want to fit an android head unit like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Android-2-...item4ae2692361
to run some software to interface to my ecu.
It would be nice if it could be made to fit where the clock originally sits?

Having a quick google of a Saph Cossie dash, it looks like it can be done with some fabrication work

Ive thought a few times about doing this. Get a bottom dash and have a play around with it.

packman could be done!

This is the software I want to run
can be used to alter fuel tables, running auto tune etc.

But most of the time it will just be used to display gauges.

Demo of a 7" tablet in an rx7, I don't mind using a tablet but you then have to mess about with adapters to get the audio to work. I could leave the alpine head unit that's in doing the audio but it would be nice to just have one thing to do the lot.

For now I have an old galaxy s3 that I will use to get it up and running and talking to the ecu and then look at make it a bit neater and more permanent

That could work. So long as it throws the bottom of the screen out far enough to clear the bottom of the top half of the dash
I'll have to look at the reviews if the motorised ones. I bet the mechanism isn't the best.
