Hi All,
I have a MK3 Escort which has no modifications to the arches and just lowering springs with Konis. I have been running the 16" Mondeo rims on 205/45 tyres but have now bought a set of 16x8 Compomotive TH rims ET25. I havent fitted or drove on them yet and there are 195/40/16 tyres on them at the minute however I would rather run 205/40 tyres as i dont like the overstretched look. I have been told that 205 will be far too wide. Anybody running 8" rims on a MK 3 or have any experience of this? I have toyed with the idea of fitting a S1 kit and i know this would probably solve the arch problems but am not sure as I like the clean look.
Thanks

I will try them on and if not il just have to sell them, the car is too good to start chopping up. As I said, i could fit a S1 bodykit and cut away but i like the plain look so dont really want to
