Default Fiesta 1.4 2003 blue smoke?

Looking for any advice on my Fieasta burning oil. The car runs fine no missing or running on, performance seems ok. Just burning oil and emitting blue smoke. Could this be a simple case of the oil breather needing a good clean, and would this affect the catalytic converter, as the engine light has come on twice and reads emissions high.

If it's heavy blue smoke it will contaminate the oxygen sensors and clog the cat. How much oil is it using?
