Hi


I have a 1999 W reg 1.8td that until a couple of days ago has been running fine but now has started idling at about 1200 rpm rather than its usual 950.


I'm not very clued up on Ford diesels so would be graceful for any pointers to what could be the cause.


It's the Endure DE engine and a friend seems to think it might be the cold advance solenoid what ever that is lol

So i popped the bonnet and after ten mins of fiddling around i found the idle control spring on the throttle body has snapped. As I work in a school and our DM teacher is a mechanical wizz he is kindly fashioning me a new spring from a keyring ring as it should be springy enough to do the job.

Cost ten mins of his time and bugger all else lol
