Default 2.0 Zetec (silvertop) inlet manifold options?

Hi guys, building a Mk1 Fiesta with a 2.0L Zetec Engine, I was planning on fitting the HO stamped RS1800 inlet manifold but I'm having trouble sourcing one, I was wondering what other options are there? Will the Focus RS manifold fit without issue? Don't really want to be using adaptor plates if I can help it.

Thanks in advanced for any help!

Is it turbo, or keeping it fairly standard?

You could use the manifold from a 115PS 1.8 Escort. It fits straight on and should be fairly easy to source.

I had a MK6 Escort a few years ago with this inlet and it worked fine. People insist it doesn't flow as well as the HO one but my 2.0 made standard power with it fitted on an otherwise standard engine, and I've known people to see 160bhp with it so it's obviously not that bad.

The 2.0 Mondeo throttle fits straight on to it and the injectors etc can all be fitted too so it's a straight swap.

Cheap and easy solution!

Will see if I can pick one of those up then, going to collect the car in the morning, it's not actually my car I'm just doing the majority of the work haha.

It's going to be standard just until it's up and running and everything else is done then eventually either going for throttle bodies or turbo, the owner hasn't decided which yet, at the moment he's leaning more towards throttle bodies but that won't be done until late on next year.

Don't suppose you know what the smallest wheels are to fit over ST170 rear brakes do you? I'm sure I read 15s fit but I can't seem to find where I read that now.

That is not true at all! Just some few wheels can take it... 16" have no problem.

Thanks for the replies on the brakes! I think we'll go ahead with the st170 set up then as he's wanting no bigger than 15s, will start a thread later and get some photos of the mk1 setting off to get it now

Well, rear fit over 15" but we are talking about front brakes and 300mm brakes won't fit over 15 wheels.

Will be getting 280mm cosworth front brakes, just wasn't 100% sure about the ST170 rears.
Just picked up the mk1

The st170/Mondeo brake upgrade WILL fit under 15's, the calipers need minor fettling when using Ford wheels, however I'm 99% sure motorsport spec wheels like Comps etc will house them no issue.

As for the inlet, the plastic Focus one should be okay, I think space might be an issue with some inlets though.

Most 15" alloys will fit over st170 discs with a little bit of fettling on the calipers
