Thought I'd start a thread so you guys can be involved with my new project, as well as giving me motivation to crack on and make her a minter
Now, I know it's not cool to buy and not build, however this will be mainly stripped and rebuild again over time to put my own stamp on things!
Some of you may know the car, its a mk1 focus which was converted and built by Steve Scott at a1 rallysport a few years back now to run rwd and yb power.
It changed hands a few times, and was bought as a rolling shell by a friend of mine, who then found a low miler engine and fitted it, he fortunately (for me) ran out of motivation/time/money to finish it, which is where I came in
I took ownership on Saturday just gone, bought as a non runner as it had no spark, I got it straight in my unit and got to work, with help from a few friends that know there way around a yb, namely Peter Neville! By Monday, we had her running like a dream.
There's a list as long as my leg of bits which need sorting and I will get through them in good time, as said, will basically be stripped in bits and started from scratch although it's got some goodies on it already..
Genuine rs rear quarter panels
Gaz gold coilovers
Comp mo6's
Stack dash
Sparco evo seats
Forge rs500 intercooler
Forge rad
Full black samcos
Aston Martin/brembo 356mm front brakes
300mm rear brakes
Fully rose jointed
Full weld in cage with diff pick ups etc.
Fuel cell
044 pump
Hydro handbrake and braided lines
Fully aeroquip end
Wrc kit (will be swapped out for rs bits)
Wilwood pedal box
Engine wise, it's stage 3 power, greens, 3 bar map sensor, rebuilt t3...for now
Some pics of the car...

As you can see, it needs a lot of tlc, which it'll get given lots of
Will keep this updated as I go.

Haha got a family wagon for that
Yeh defo getting a standard rs kit on it, as said in a previous post, if it was an out and out track car I'd keep the wrc kit as it looks purposeful!

Guildford,Sutton and croydon days are long gone mate, Christ, seems like donkeys we all used to play down the mad mile after the high street!!
Saying that, I think croydon/purley way meets are occasionally happening..
Where are you now then?

They were getting a bit mad.. Back in early / 2000's. Stockley Park especially!
Been up in Norfolk about 7 years now.. Still come back now on then, my family are still here, my dad's a Middlesex group regular!

Managed to sneak a few hours this morning down the unit..
The plan is to strip and rebuild the car in sections, ie. engine bay, interior, underside, bodywork etc.
As said at the beginning of this thread, I purchased the car as a non runner, I managed to get the car running but doing so I had to botch a load of wiring together as the wiring that was in the car was quite simply shocking so I have decided to basically do away with all the wiring in the car and start again.
Which brings me to starting with the engine bay as the engine loom is riddled as is the car loom so I will be relocating the fuse box and remaking a new loom myself for the car and possibly engine once I decide what route to take re management.
As I was removing the looms, I thought sod it, il start with the bay, engine out, paint, new lines blah blah blah full freshen up.
So, off came the wings and bumper..

Current fuse box location, lots of plugs and wires that aren't even being used!!

Which was removed immediately!!
Turbo and mani removed..

Intercooler, rad, header tank and ps tank removed, ready for engine to come out basically..

Also decided to remove the dash so as I can make the new loom to length for relocating the fuse box to inside the car. I will be doing this at home of an evening as I do have my new baby boy to look after so can't spend as much time as normal down my unit playin, should be able to sneak a few cheeky hours here and there in the spare room though

And said car loom that's going in for surgery..

Have a few bits on order for the engine bay freshen up so will update as and when

Best way to go mate . My mate Dave has moved his inside the car all so . my fuse box is in the same place as yours but it's been modded so it's a lot lower in the bay so it's out of the way witch I'm happy with . Keep the up dates coming

Will try and keep them coming as quickly as possible coleyst200
This did turn up yesterday...

Which is mint, reason for changing is that the existing cover has the breather mod and I'm not going to be running my breather like this so purchased this one that is stock.
I also got a new rocker cover gasket kit with half moons from Graham Goode.
And have also started work on the car loom
