Default what contains asbestos in engine

found a sticker on the ebay, know its meant to be on the slam panel of the escort rs turbo, only just read that "contains asbestos" link

what is it that contains this cancer causing dust? we all work on the cars, oil dirt grease but I'm worried now

can anyone shed some light

Chances are for the old brake pads it would have had back in the day.

thats what a friend just told me aswel, take it they don't use it in pads and brakes anymore then?

Would also be in old clutches and possibly some gaskets. It's been outlawed now so it's only likely to be in original parts now.

And even then, it would be a very low grade asbestos used in them, unless you cut the stuff with a grinder or chew on it i wouldnt worry too much about it

right ok then thats helped a lot then fellas, when i read it i was thinking omg what have i done, this old car is going to kill me standing still rather than crashing it!!!
