I am looking to get about 300 bhp+ what would be the best clutch and flywheel for my focus st170.

I don't think people start a well read and used thread with the intention of misleading people. Follow the thread and all will be good

 

Escort Rs clutch will not work. Not sure on the size of the spline in the box but I'll put money on it all being different like the mtx on the 2.0s

 

Yeah that rings a bell, can't remember if the thread is for mating a zetec to an esc turbo box.
If I was turbocharging an st170 I'd drop a Will Pedley a message. He knows pretty much all there is to know about these engines.

 

The St170 gearbox uses a different spline to every other Ford gearbox. You need to order the paddle clutch conversion from America but it's expensive. I do remember vaguely hearing Helix were making one though, so might be worth a try.

 

Without costing an arm and a leg its cheap to convert to 2.0 focus setup.
2.0 flywheel
what ever 2.0 clutch you want.
2.0 gearbox
2.0 gear linkage
2.0 gear stick.

(its is smiple bolt on job and basicly all the same you would have to do just changing the clutch just with extra 20 mins work)
